"Harry Craddock reproduces this recipe in the Savoy as the “Fairbanks Cocktail (No. 2)” and confuses matters by implying it has something to do with Douglas Fairbanks Sr. with the note: “We often wondered what Doug did it on. Now that we know we are going to try to do it ourselves.” (p. 68) Robert Vermeire says otherwise (see recipe). Charles W. Fairbanks—with an ‘s’—was both a Senator from Indiana and the Vice President from 1905-1909. Fairbanks, Alaska is named for him." — MixologyTech for Martin’s Index of Cocktails and Mixed Drinks
